Child Care Services

Rainbow’s End Child Development Center was established to provide quality and convenient child care to SIU students, alumni, faculty, and staff, as well as the Southern Illinois community. We provide a secure, educational, and positive atmosphere for children.

Debit Dawg

Debit Dawg is your student ID, which functions like a University debit card. University Housing residents use Debit Dawg for laundry in the residence halls. Students also use Debit Dawg to print, make copies, purchase food at local restaurants, or purchase gas at select gas stations.

Grade Information

Honors Program

The University Honors Program (UHP) is a university-wide undergraduate program intended to reward SIU's best students for their high academic achievements. These classes satisfy the requirements of the University Core Curriculum as well as the student's major.

Housing Information

Living on campus is a great part of the college experience. We offer a variety of housing options. While most rooms are doubles (housing two students), single and triple rooms are also available in all areas.

Lentz Dining Hall

Our dining hall menus are designed to provide a nutritionally balanced selection at every meal. Students enjoy many options including home-style cooking; light, vegan and vegetarian choices; soup and salad bars; sandwiches made-to-order and more. You don’t need a meal plan to eat at Lentz.

Parking

You are eligible for on-campus parking based on a variety of factors including class level (freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior) and whether you are living on or off-campus. Information on what lots you can park in, purchasing a parking sticker, or disputing a ticket can be found on our website.

Saluki Athletics

Saluki Athletics consists of many different sports teams including football, basketball, baseball, and many more. Our website has all the information you need, whether you are interested in joining a team or catching a game!

SalukiTech Call Center

The SalukiTech Call Center provides students with phone support for SIU-related technology issues. We provide solutions to get you up and running quickly and work to make the experience as stress-free as possible. We are also available by email, live chat, or through a help ticket on our website.

SalukiTech Printing Services

SalukiTech Campus-Wide Printing Services (CWPS) provides and maintains printers for use by students. These printers are conveniently located in more than 30 locations across campus – including public spaces and campus housing. Information about cost and refunds, printer locations, and reporting issues can be found on our website.

SalukiTech Service Center

The SalukiTech Service Center provides low-cost diagnostic and repair services to SIU students. The Service Center is conveniently located on the first floor of Morris Library. Our staff is also available to answer questions about your email, password resets, wireless access, and more.

SalukiTech Software Licensing

SalukiTech offers a variety of free and discounted software to currently enrolled students who meet eligibility requirements. A list of currently available software can be found on our website, as well as our Software Request Form.

Student Recreation Center

The Student Recreation Center has a wide range of sports, services, and events to enhance the quality of life for SIU students. We have exercise  equipment, a track and a swimming pool, several fitness classes, and a variety of sport clubs. Memberships and guest passes are available.

Study Abroad

Where in the world can you find an SIU Saluki? Where can't you? Southern Illinois University Carbondale offers study abroad programs from two weeks to an academic year, all around the world, with options for every student.

Tutoring

The Center for Learning Support Services makes tutoring available to all on-campus students. We provide tutoring primarily for 100 and 200 level Core Curriculum courses and select upper level courses.

University Bookstore

The University Bookstore sells and rents textbooks, apparel and accessories, gifts and collectibles, supplies, and technology such as laptops and phones. If you find a textbook somewhere else at a lower cost, we will also price match!

University Museum

First opened as a natural history museum in 1874, the University Museum has evolved into a teaching museum that represents the humanities, the sciences and the arts.

Writing Center

The Writing Center provides free writing assistance that helps all students, including undergraduates and graduates from any department, develop their writing skills and become more aware and confident writers. Whether in-person or online, tutors will work with students at any stage of the writing process and discuss with them how to focus the meeting on the students' individual writing concerns.
